A simple guide for connecting Namecheap domains to ChemiCloud hosting (or any registrar + host).
1. Log in to Namecheap.
- You need to access your domain settings to point it to ChemiCloud.
Go to https://namecheap.com and sign in.
- Open the left sidebar.
- Click Domain List.
- Find your domain: aldwinzalameda.com
2. Open Domain Management
This is where Namecheap lets you change DNS and nameserver.
- Click Manage next to your domain.
- You will land on the Domain tab.
3. Switch to Custom DNS
You must replace Namecheap’s default nameservers with ChemiCloud’s.
Domain → Nameservers → Dropdown
- Change the dropdown to Custom DNS.
- This unlocks the nameserver fields.
4. Enter ChemiCloud Nameservers
These nameservers tell the internet that ChemiCloud controls your DNS.
- Log in and access your ChemiCloud dashboard.
- Click the information icon next to your domain.
- Refer to the nameservers under Server Information.
- Go back to Namecheap and add the nameservers under Custom DNS.
- Make sure each one is on its own line.
5. Save the Changes
Namecheap must save the new nameservers before they take effect.
- Click the green checkmark to save.
- Wait for the confirmation message.
6. Wait for DNS Propagation
It usually updates fast, but global DNS can take a little time.
- Use a global DNS checker like whatsmydns.net to see how many resolvers have updated.
Once the nameservers are set:
- All DNS records (TXT, MX, CNAME, A) must be added in ChemiCloud → cPanel → Zone Editor.
- WordPress will load from ChemiCloud.
- SSL will be issued by ChemiCloud.
- Email routing (if any) is done in ChemiCloud.
Namecheap is now only for domain renewal and WHOIS info.
