Preflight

- PAX Oxygen → CHECK; GUARDED position

- PFD/ND → ADJUST BRIGHTNESS
- MFD → ADJUST BRIGHTNESS
- FMC → ADJUST BRIGHTNESS
Initiate alignment sequence thru FMC.
- HDG/STS → select to check remaining minutes
- INIT → PRESS
- Departure/Arrival → ENTER ICAO
Use Departure/Arrival ICAO without slash and enter through Company Route to import settings directly from SimBrief.
- Enter gate coordinates (LAT and LONG)
- Go to Airport Charts > Search Taxi > Parking Stand Coordinates
- Use UP or DOWN arrows to enter coordinates.
- Align IRS → PRESS to confirm and wait for alignment to complete (refer to HDG/STS)
Run tests
- Engine Fire Test → HOLD to Engine 1 position; repeat for Engine 2
- Status Message → CLEAR manually
- APU Fire → RUN (if not started APU early)
- Smoke Test → RUN (check two SMOKE lights)
- Annunciator Test → RUN (check illumination)
- GPWS Test → RUN (short press for quick test)
- Warning System Test → RUN
- Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) → turn ON
- CVR Test Button → press to test and check needle movement
Takeoff Calculations

EFIS Control Panel
Switch the Flight Control OFF and ON to be able to see NAV displays without hiding the Yoke.

- Mode Selector → PLAN (flight plan), MAP (default), ARC (VOR/ILS), ROSE (VOR/ILS)
- APP/VOR → Approach is ILS; VOR is VOR
- Range Selector → with B modes showing what’s behind you; 15 (standard), 30, 60, 120, 240 NM intervals
- Minimum Selector → Flight Path Angle (FPA), M/DA (for departure, leave at 0), or Decision Height (DH)
- Brightness Selectors for PFD/ND
- Map Modes → Constraints, Airport, and Traffic (standard)
- Altimeter Switch → toggle between QNH and Standard (STD)
- Weather Radar Brightness → turn OFF while near the gate

INIT B

PROG page
- Enter VOR (if available)
- Enter departure runway (to see bearing and distance to that runway)
Once boarding has been completed, reconfirm weights (ZFW, TFW, and GW) on EFB and FMC.
- Reenter weights (consider operational impacts in OFP)
- Set speed bugs (VFTO, V1/VR, V2).
- Flex temperature → SET (refer to FLEX/TOGA on performance app)
- Confirm EPR and FLEX temp on display panel.
Before start procedure
- Request pushback clearance.
If the APU has not been started yet, start APU.
- External Power / GPU → DISCONNECT
- Parking Brake → SET
- Chocks → REMOVE
- Seatbelt → ON
- Fuel Pumps (L1, R1, L2, R2) → ON
- Probe Heat → ON
- Takeoff Data → SET
- FMC Display 1 → show Takeoff page
- FMC Display 2 → show Flight Plan page
- Transponder → switch to ALT OFF setting or XPNDR (depending on where you are)
- Windows and Doors → verify CLOSED
- ARM Doors → ENABLE on EFB/Aircraft
Once pushback clearance has been received.
- Beacon Lights → ON
- Overhead Panel → Completely dark (no illumination) except for Flight Recorder / Voice Recorder Ground Control Switch (FDR/CVR GND CTL)
- Cockpit Door → LOCKED
- Parking brake → RELEASE
Start pushback.
Starting engines
Standby Engine Indicator → turn ON
- Engine Master → switch ON
- Ignition selector → set to NORM
- Engine 2 → PULL to start engine 2
- N2% → CHECK (increasing)
- N1% → CHECK (increasing)
- Fuel switch → ENABLE (once N2% at 15%)
- Turbine Gas Temperature (TGT) → CHECK TEMP (increasing)
Once engine 2 has stabilized (N2% at roughly 54%), repeat steps to start Engine 1.
Once pushback has been completed, set Parking Brake.
Once both engines are running.
- Engine Master switch → turn OFF
After start / Before taxi procedure
- Anti-ice → SET AS NEEDED
- APU → switch OFF
- Alert Lights → CHECK (display panel) or use backup panel
- SEI → turn OFF
- Flaps → AS NEEDED
- Trims → SET (refer to EFB/Aircraft TO CG%)
- All ground equipment → REMOVED
Taxi Procedure
Request taxi clearance.
Use Airport Charts or Enroute Chart to view live taxi chart.
- Taxi Light → switch ON
- Parking Brake → RELEASE
- Throttle → just enough to move the aircraft
- Brake → CHECK
- Speed (apron) → 15 knots
- Speed (turns) → 10 knots
- Speed (straight) → 30 knots
EFIS
- NAV mode → SET
- PROF mode → SET (for vertical navigation)
Use strobe lights when about to cross a runway while taxiing.
- Fuel levers → both UP
- Lift Dumpers → ARM
- Squawk → VERIFY
- Transponder → SELECTED
- Flight control → UNLOCK
- Yoke → TEST (free and moving; pull up, down, left, and right)
- Rudder → TEST (free and moving)
- Autobrake → set to RTO position (move thrust to idle first; otherwise INOP)
- Takeoff config button → NORM (no alert)
- Brake temperature → CHECK (no HIGH temperature)
- Taxi-out checklist → RUN (from YOKE)
While approaching threshold.
- Call Button → PRESS
- Calls → RECEIVE when ready.
Turn off Strobe Lights when crossing runway has been completed.

- Timer → ACTIVATE
- Throttle → set to EPR 1.30 to stabilise
- TOGA → ACTIVATE
- Yoke → push forward
- Thrust Display → confirm as per FLEX temp.
- VR → Rotate; pitch at 18 degrees
- Landing Gear → GEAR UP (positive rate of climb)
- Autopilot → ENGAGE
If using flaps, refer to FMC/Takeoff page for retract value.
During climb.
- VFTO → check GREEN DOT on PFD
- Target Heading → check PFD
Passing transition altitude
- Altimeter → set to STD (past transition altitude)
- Altitude → SET to cruise level (cross check on PFD)
Passing 10,000 feet.
- Landing Lights → turn OFF/RETRACT
- Seatbelt → OFF (check clear skies?)
FMC
- Flight Plan → CHECK
- Mode → CHECK
- Tactical Mode → CHECK
- Progress/ Fuel Prediction → CHECK (estimated remaining fuel at destination airport)
EFIS
- Speed knob
- Heading knob
Cabin Pressurization Panel
- Differential Pressure → CHECK
- Cabin Altitude → CHECK
- Cabin Rate of Climb → CHECK
Use Engine Anti-Ice (preventative measure) when TAT at 10deg or less. Use Wing and Tail Anti-Ice (reactive measure) when ice is visible.
Rate of Climb (maximums)
- Use 3,000 feet per minute if there’s 3,000 feet to go.
- Use 2,000 feet per minute if there’s 2,000 feet to go.
- Use 1,000 feet per minute if there’s 1,000 feet to go.
Cruise Procedure
Upon reaching top of climb.
- TCAS mode selector → set to BELOW
- Tilt Radar → minus 1
- Check time reaching TOC.
- Check remaining fuel on board (FOB).
- Refer to OFP to compare time and fuel.
Start descent procedure at roughly 100NM from top of descent.
- Do another fuel check on the next waypoint to compare estimate.
- Check fuel distribution → enable X-Feed to balance fuel (when gap exceeds 300kg; turn off fuel pump on low side)
