P6 Layout: Variance

When to apply this layout?

• Before and after moving the date to check unwanted programme movements (be sure to create pre baseline copy for comparison).
• To compare movement against the previous status update.
• For variance reporting/discussion with engineers.

Filter

All of the following:

• Activity Status > is not equal to Completed.

Any of the following:

• Variance – BL1 Finish Date > is not equal to 0d.
• Variance – BL1 Duration > is not equal to 0d.

Activity Columns

• Activity ID
• Activity Name
• BL1 Duration
• BL1 Start
• BL1 Finish
• At Completion Duration
• Start
• Finish
• Variance – BL1 Duration
• Variance – BL1 Finish

Group and Sort

Display options:

• Show Group Totals > YES
• Shrink vertical grouping bands > YES

Group By:

• WBS > Indent

Group By Options:

• Hide if empty > YES
• Name / Description > YES

Sort:

• Start > Ascending
