Launch OBS and go to settings.
Output
- Output Mode > set to Advanced.
- Type > Standard (default).
Go to Recording tab.
Recording Settings:

- Recording Path > set to your preference (G:/VODs).
- Recording Format > Matroska Video (.mkv)
- Video Encoder > use hardware encoder Nvidia NVENC H.264 (non-HDR) or Nvidia NVENC HEVC (HDR).
Encoder Settings:

- Rate Control > select CQP from the dropdown list.
- CQ Level > set between 16 to 23 (lower CQ level will result in higher quality and larger file sizes).
- Keyframe Interval (0=auto) > 2s.
- Preset > use P5: Slow (Good Quality)
- Tuning > High Quality (default).
- Multipass Mode > Two Passes (Quarter Resolution) [default].
- Profile > select main (non-HDR) or main10 (HDR).
- Look-ahead > unchecked (default).
- Psycho Visual Tuning > checked (default).
- GPU > 0 (default).
- Max B-frames > 2 (default).
Audio

General:
- Sample Rate > 48 kHz (default).
- Channels > Stereo.
Global Audio Devices:
- Desktop Audio > select your preferred speaker (Logitech G560 Gaming Speaker).
Meters:
- Decay Rate > Fast (default).
- Peak Meter Type > Sample Peak (default).
Video

- Base (Canvas) Resolution > set your monitor’s display resolution (3840×2160).
- Output (Scaled) Resolution > downscale to 1440p (4K takes longer to upload).
- Downscale Filter > use Lanczos (Sharpened scaling, 36 samples).
- Common FPS Values > 60.
Advanced

General:
- Process Priority > Normal (default).
- Show active outputs warning on exit > checked (default).
Video:
- Renderer > Direct3D 11 (default).
- Colour Format > NV12 (8-bit, 4:2:0. 2 planes) [default non-HDR] / P010 (10-bit, 4:2:0, 2 planes) [HDR].
- Colour Space > Rec. 709 (default non-HDR) or Rec. 2100 (PQ) [HDR].
- Colour Range > Limited.
- SDR White Level > 300 nits (default).
- HDR Nominal Peak Level > 1000 nits (default).
Recording:
- Automatically remux to mp4 > Enable (for using .mkv recording format).
