Right after I installed WordPress, I began looking for a theme so I could start customising the design and layout of my site.
Though I had the option to use the free theme that came installed with WordPress, I decided to go for a premium theme instead to have more customization options.
Genesis + Child Theme
I currently use the Genesis Framework and Revolution Pro as my child theme from StudioPress which I think is a great theme. It’s quite clean and minimal in design.
If you’re looking to install a premium theme from StudioPress, you’ll need to install the Genesis Framework first and then a child theme on top of that.

- Install Child Theme
Step 1. Install Genesis Framework
Download the Genesis Framework and your choice of child theme from your StudioPress dashboard.
Next, login to your WordPress dashboard. Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
Make sure to upload Genesis in .zip format. Then click Install Now to continue.
When it’s done, click Activate to apply the theme.
Step 2. Install a Child Theme
After activating the Genesis Framework, you can now install a child theme. Just repeat the same steps mentioned above.
Don’t forget to activate your child theme as well. When you’re done, view your site and
