Cockpit

  • Remove the plane cover by disengaging the parking brake or through the VAMS page.

Tip: Always land with at least 70 gallons of fuel remaining.

Before Engine Start

Pre-flight checks:

  • Turn on BAT2 > check voltage 23.5V (at least).
  • Turn on BAT1.

Run checklist:

  • Preflight Inspection > COMPLETE.
  • Door > LATCHED.
  • Parking Brake > AS REQUIRED.
  • BAT1 and BAT2 Switches > ON.
  • GEN1 and GEN2 Switches > ON.
  • External GPU > AS NEEDED.
  • Verify active FADEC channel is displayed below % thrust indication.

Engine Start (skip)

Do this later. Run avionics initialization first to save on fuel.

Avionics Initialization

Go to MFD > Utilities > Initialization.

  • Database Status
  • System Tests
  • Initial Fuel
  • Weight and Balance
  • Flight Plan
  • Performance Data

Database Status

  • Check Navigraph Charts (if available).

System Tests

  • Run Preflight Test (Engine Fire and Stall Warn).

for the engine fire test:

  • Check overhead lights/push to discharge turn on.
  • Verify fire warning CAS is shown.

for the stall test:

  • Verify AOA increases.
  • Hear the stall alarm and see the stall alert at CAS page.

Initial Fuel

  • See FOB showing 0.0 gal on MFD.
  • Hit FOB Sync (to sync the totalizer to the sensor value every time you refuel aircraft)

Weight and Balance

  • Fill or automatically filled.
  • IRL > verify seat configuration.

Note: Seats are removable and are not part of weight and balance.

Flight Plan

  • Add origin and destination.
  • Load departure and arrival (do approach later).
  • Preview route.

Performance Data (IRL)

  • Confirm the amount of runway for takeoff.

Once you’re done, click Accept Initialization.

Engine Start

  • EIS > CHECK ALL NORMAL.
  • Engine IPS > A/R (turn on engine anti-ice if temperature is below freezing or if there is any physical moisture present).
  • ECS Control Panel > Turn ON ECS (press ECS Disable); set FAN to AUTO; set TEMP mid range.
  • External GPU > DISCONNECT (if connected).
  • Oxygen Master Switch > VERIFY ON (enable in preflight)
  • Avionics Initialization > ALL INITS COMPLETE (do this step before starting the engine to save on fuel).
  • CAP Pin > REMOVE AND STOW (caps pin not simulated in sim).

  • Seats must be in normal upright position.
  • Parking Brake > RELEASE.
  • Brakes > CHECK.

Before Takeoff

Run checklist (before taxi).

  • Departure Briefing > COMPLETE (set minimums; add 600ft to elevation and enable Baro).

Tip: To remove headphones from the dashboard, go to VAMS > BOSE > Headphones. Also, set Statistics, Luggage, and Status from VAMS.

Request taxi clearance, turn on taxi lights, and head to the runway.

Run checklist (before takeoff).

  • Landing Lights > A/R.

Caution: Above 5degC, probe heat may only be ON for 5mins (continuous) during ground operations. Extended use in warmer temperatures may damage the composite structure adjacent to the pitot probe.

  • PROBE HEAT Switch > ON.
  • ENGINE IPS Switch > A/R.
  • WING/STAB IPS Switch > OFF.
  • CAS Messages > CHECK.
