Here are the steps:
- Go to Customize > Menus
- View All Locations
- Create New Menu
Go to Customize > Menus
On the WordPress menu bar, click Customize.
Then, select Menus from the customization options.
View All Locations
Here, you can start creating a menu. But before you do that, check out all menu locations first by clicking View All Locations.
This allows you to easily identify and assign those navigation menus on your website.
Create New Menu
Depending on the theme you use, you might be able to display menus in multiple locations on your website.
As you can see, the theme I use can only display menus in two locations – Left Menu and Right Menu.
To start creating a menu, click Create New Menu under Left Menu.
Then, enter a name for the menu under Menu Name.
For convenience, I entered the same name – Left Menu since it will be created on the left side (Left Menu) location.
Next, click Add Items to start adding some links.
Since I haven’t created any posts or pages yet, I just added the available custom link – Home.
Once you’re done adding links, do the same steps for the other menu locations (View All Locations > Create New Menu > Right Menu).
Then, click Publish to save changes.
You can now see the custom link – Home created under the Left Menu location on this website.
That’s it! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment below.
