In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to create navigation menus on your WordPress site and add useful links to it.
Let’s get started.
Go to Customize > Menus
On your WordPress menu bar, click Customize.
Then select Menus from the customization options.
View menu locations
Here, you can start creating a new menu. But before you do that, be sure to view all menu locations first.
Click View All Locations to continue.
Create a new menu
The theme I use can display two menu locations – the Left Menu and Right Menu.
To create a menu, click + Create New Menu.
Next, enter a name for the menu and select its location.
Then click Next to continue.
Add links to your menu
To start adding links, click on Add Items.
Here, you can add the following items:
- Custom Links
When I first created a menu, I didn’t have any post or page yet. So, I just went for the custom link – Home to have something in there.
Next, go back to View All Locations and do the same steps for the other menu – Right Menu.
When you’re done, click Publish to save and apply changes.
That’s it! You can now view your website and see the newly created navigation menu.
