When I installed WordPress, I didn’t change the site title and tagline for this website during setup.
At that time, I couldn’t think of a name and a tagline to go with it. So, I just continued with the installation using the default settings.
- Site Title – My Blog
- Tagline – My WordPress Blog
Then, right after installing a theme, I still couldn’t think of a name for this website so I thought of simply putting my name in there.
Here’s how I did it.
On the WordPress menu bar, click Customize.
Then, select Site Identity from the customization options.
Here, you have the option to change the Site Title, Tagline, and Site Icon for your website.
- Site Title – This is the name of your website.
- Tagline – A brief description of your website.
- Site Icon – This is the small icon that appears on your browser tab and bookmark bar.
For the Site Icon, you can create one using Canva which is a free online graphic application.
I created a simple icon using my initials – AZ and then uploaded it to my website.
Once you’re done, click Publish to save changes.
That’s it! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below.
