Create New Project

• Select New Project
• Enter a name for the project and click Create.

Interface / Workspaces:

• Media
• Cut – for basic edits
• Edit – video editing
• Fusion – special effects and motion graphics
• Color – color grades, corrections
• Fairlight – audio stuff; pro audio tools
• Deliver – exporting and rendering video projects

Settings

Timeline Format

• Timeline resolution – Custom; for 2560 x 1440 processing
• Timeline frame rate – 60fps
• Playback frame rate – 60fps (same as above)

Video Monitoring

• Video format – HD 1080p 60

Presets

• Click Save As.
• Enter the preset name and click OK.

Media

• Right-click on the media pool and select Import Media.
• Find the media to import.

Cut / Edit

• Drag down the media file onto the timeline.
• Zoom in and out of the timeline – use +/- or Detail Zoom
• Playback monitor (right window) – see what the finished product would look like.
• Preview monitor (left window) – view other media files.
• Timeline View Options – enable Subtitle Tracks and Audio Waveforms
• Video View Options – select Film Strip View
• Audio View Options – display Non-Rectified Waveform and Full Waveform

Editing

• Start trimming video down
• Remove all gaps, bad takes, etc.
• Use handles to remove clips or blade tool to slice up footage.
• Add B-Roll footage.
• Mute unwanted audio.
• Enable/disable snapping for precise edit

Audio

• Add additional music to timeline.

Titles

• Add titles.

Transitions

• Add transition effects.

Audio levels

• Adjust audio levels.
• Add audio effects.

Color

• Apply LUT > HDR ST 2084 > HDR 1000 nits to Gamma 2.4

Export

• Go to Deliver.
• Resolution – Custom 2560 x 1440
• Frame rate – 60
• Format – MP4
• Video Codec – H.265
• Type – Auto
• Encoding Profile – Main 10
• Audio – Bus 1 (Stereo)
• Audio Codec – AAC
• Data burn-in – Same as project
